What were you thinking?!!  Have you ever asked your husband, kids or anybody else that question out of frustration? 

That question has more gravity than we give credit to. Our thoughts, in most cases, will eventually lead to actions.

At any given moment, each of us is comprised of a multitude of “boxes”. These boxes were empty when we were born. 

In the Greek, to become offended means to become “entrapped.” 
Offense has been called “The Bait of Satan” and there is an incredible book by the same name, written by John Bevere.

I write this in coming out of the most difficult roller coaster seasons of my life. Earlier today, while walking into my garage to get something out of my secondary fridge, the Lord said to me, “Well, are you going to hide in this blog or are you going to be honest?” 

What do you see when you look in the mirror?  Do I dare go there?  Yep!

At the moment of birth, society begins it’s haunting dictation of telling us what we “should” be. And it is relentless.  

It was about 10:30 on a midweek morning and I got the phone call every wife dreads. Up until this time, my husband had worked graveyard shift. This was his first day with a new partner working dayshift.

I am 48 years old.  My father was a captain in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and was a handsome man with a heck of a lot of abandonment issues.  My mother was a beautiful woman but also an emotional wreck having grown up in an emotionally abusive and neglectful home.  And then they had me. 

I made a vow to my husband 25 years ago to love, honor and cherish him in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for better or for worse until death do us part. Was I thinking ANY of those crappy parts would EVER blanket my marriage? HECK NO!
